Lat. Aldus Pius Manutius (February 6, 14 49 or 1450 to 1515) - was a printer the finest Renaissance Manucj uszĂłw ancestor of the family. His credits include releases conta ining the text in italics, or spiral type, and the introduction o f modern printed, inexpensive books in small formats. Born in the Sermon or Bassiano in the Papal States. In the years 1475 - 1478 Aldus Manutius studied Greek at the University of Ferrara. But the war between Ferrara and Venice, Aldus, and drove his friend, Prince - the philosopher Giovanni Pico della Mirandola to the estate of Pica in Mirandola, where he spent for two years.
